Mad Men theme, with a twist.

A few days ago, I spoke about the show Mad Men.  I linked the opening theme.  How great is that song.

An old friend of mine from my Stratford days sent me a link to an alternative version of the song.  Take a look.

Someone, much smarter than me, took a live band, added lyrics, and voila, a totally re-imagined version of the theme.  The lyrics were taken from the Nat ‘King’ Cole song, Nature Boy.  The lyrics seem to fit well, but I am not too crazy on how they sound within the song.

Here are the lyrics.

There was a boy
A very strange enchanted boy
They say he wandered very far, very far
Over land and sea
A little shy and sad of eye
But very wise was he

And then one day
A magic day he passed my way
And while we spoke of many things
Fools and kings
This he said to me
“the greatest thing you’ll ever learn
Is just to love and be loved in return”

What a beautiful theme and lyrics. Perfectly harmonious.
